As chairman of SK Children’s Charities for the Benefit of
Children's Charities, I am pleased to welcome you to our website and to have this opportunity to tell you of our organization in greater detail.
The SK Children’s Charities originated in honor of the memory of Steve Kaplan, a dear friend of the organizations founders. We continue to honor his memory and his family's wishes by raising funds in support of a variety of charities. These charities focus specifically on aiding children in need of special care and services, as well as health organizations that deal with children's health issues and diseases. All SK work is carried out completely by volunteers. Nobody is paid. Our fundraising is done mainly through our annual Golf classic held every summer. We are now entering our thirteenth year and through your support have been able to help many worthwhile causes. We believe our annual event is the premier Charity Golf Event in the tri-state area. Players enjoy a full day of fun and golf. Included with our event is a full morning breakfast/brunch, grill lunch on the course, and a huge cocktail party followed by a gala banquet in the evening where hundreds of prizes are awarded or given away! These valuable gifts and prizes usually include large screen plasma televisions, 3-5 day trips to places like the Caribbean, Arizona or Las Vegas, as well as a great variety of golf and electronic paraphernalia. As our event grows we continue to lay plans to accommodate more participants. This year we have reserved Glen Oaks Country Club. We are pleased with this growing list of supporters as it enables us to provide larger contributions to our core base of charities as well as increase the number of organizations on this list. Be assured that your contributions are being put to good use. We vigorously screen all of our recipients and they must meet our strict criteria in order to be eligible to receive our support. All recipients must be 501 (C) (3) registered non-profit. We also insist that at least 80% of all contributions go directly to helping children, not towards administrative costs. We greatly appreciate any and all contributions and invite you to join us at this year's event. I personally look forward to seeing you out there!
